ELIGIBILITY. Gender studies is an interdisciplinary academic field devoted to analysing gender identity and gendered representation. It includes women's studies (concerning women , feminism , gender, and politics), men's studies and queer studies . It’s an interdisciplinary course of study that introduces students to hidden histories, explores complex social structures, confronts injustice and oppression, and hones the skills of citizens of the future. Women's studies are an interdisciplinary academic field which explores politics, society and history from an intersectional, multicultural women's perspective. Development Studies is a very broad field with a little bit of Economics, Politics, History, Sociology, Gender Studies and a host of other disciplines mixed into the curriculum. The programme's interdisciplinary and cross-cultural scope is inclusive to all students, regardless of background, culture or existing knowledge and competencies. M.A. degree in second division from a recognized university is eligible for admission. The eligible candidate is required to attach photocopies of certificates/degrees and marks sheet with the admission form along with the requisite fee and submit it as per prescribed procedure. The Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies department prepares students to become future professionals, scholars, activists, and artists who engage critically with gender and sexuality issues in multicultural and transnational contexts. There is already a partial introduction of Gender Studies in 10+2 Higher Secondary School Curriculum.
